A professional healthcare personal trained to provide companionship to clients’ requiring socialization and/or minimum guidance in assuring a protected, safe and healthy environment. The caregiver may perform home maintenance services in the comfort of the client’s home or environment. By law and as enforced by the State of Florida, a companion cannot provide hands-on care to the client.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following list of responsibilities is a guideline of possible duties that may be performed independently, as a group or by the caregiver in the course of working with the client. The Caregiver may assist in the following duties and are not limited to those listed.
Provides companionship by reading, conversation, and listening.
Participates in appropriate recreational activities and hobbies.
Maintains a safe home environment for the client.
Assists in the maintenance of a clean and healthy environment.
Reminds the client to take self-administered medications as ordered by the physician.
